My name is Elizabeth B. Marks and I am the kindergarten teacher. I graduated from Concordia College in Bronxville, NY with a BA in Education. This is my 24th year at Hope. I taught 5 years in 3rd grade and 18 years in the kindergarten. I also taught a half a year of grades five and six at St. Peter's Lutheran School in Sanborn, NY.
My favorite bible passage is Ecclesiastes 3:1, "For everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven". I love to read! I enjoy watching sports especially the Eagles, Phillies and Flyers, also the Buffalo Bills and Sabres. My favorite team to watch is Hope's softball team! My favorite vacation spot is with my family "Down the Shore". (I guess I've turned into a Philly girl!) |

My name is Karen Gibbon and I am in my 6th year of teaching here at Hope. Previously, I taught at St Luke's Lutheran School in Cabot, PA, Christ Lutheran School in Forest Hills, PA and at a Kinder Care in Greensburg, PA. I began my teaching career at St. Michael's Lutheran School in Fort Myers, Florida way back in 1981.
I graduated college with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Lutheran Teacher's Diploma from Concordia University Chicago (previously Concordia River Forest, IL). My concentrations were in early childhood and sociology.
Throughout my years in and out of the ministry, I have kept active in many different church and school organizations. I have a strong love for the Lutheran School and Church Ministry. My favorite Bible verse is Acts 20:24 “But life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus- the work of telling others the Good News about God's mighty kindness and love.”
I really enjoy being a tourist, going to the beach (any beach), polishing my nails and being with my family doing anything! |
