Our Preschool Curriculum…

Hope Lutheran Preschool believes the preschool years are a very important time in a child's life, and has developed a curriculum to optimize this learning time.

Religion: Bible stories, prayer, God’s world

Mathematics: Counting, calendar, size and shapes, number recognition, and position words

Social Studies: Family living, self-awareness, community life, holidays, field trips, and self-help skills.

Reading/Language Arts: Name recognition, letter recognition, questions, ideas, stories, and objects about the theme that can be discussed by and with the children, rhyming words.

Arts and Crafts: Projects correlated with the themes, lessons and holidays.

Science: Weather, plants, birds, animals & habitats, rocks, and ecology.

Music: Singing, listening, dancing, rhythmic activities, and music appreciation.

Social Life Skills: Sharing and giving an opportunity to discover and learn in a friendly atmosphere.

Fine Motor Skills: Cutting, tracing, gluing & snapping.

Gross Motor Skills: Running, jumping, catching & throwing.
