Rev. Richard L. Neagley

Interim Pastoral Support

Pastor Neagley is a retired Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) pastor, currently serving two congregations on a part-time basis as their worship leader.  Pastor Neagley serves Hope two or three times a month and Peace Lutheran Church in Smyrna, Delaware, twice a month.  Occasionally he also has the opportunity to lead worship at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Lititiz, PA.

Pastor Neagley attended Concordia Jr. College (New York), Concordia Sr. College (Ann Arbor, MI) and the LCMS Seminary in St. Louis, MO.  He served his Vicarage as the only Pastor for two small churches in Coos Bay and Myrtle Point, Oregon.  Graduating from the Seminary in 1976, he immediately began his career by serving congregations in Pittsburgh, PA; Flint, MI; Ft. Myers, FL; Ashaway, RI; and Terryville and Naugatuck, CT.

Having retired from full-time ministry in early 2010, Pastor Neagley and his wife, Claire, moved back to Harrisburg, PA with his mother, Margaret, so she could be near the rest of their family.  At that time, he served as Interim Pastor at St. John Lutheran Church, York, PA.

After moving to this area in 2014, the Neagley’s felt led by God to worship here at Hope.  Pastor Neagley began helping Pastor Mokry by occasionally leading worship and teaching Bible class.  He also volunteered at Hope Lutheran School by teaching Middle School Religion classes and working with the school students during lunch and recess times.

Pastor Neagley is an avid reader and a lover of all things hockey (especially the Tampa Bay Lightning and Princeton Tigers Women’s Hockey) and UCONN Women's Basketball.  He and Claire also spend every Thursday afternoon taking care of their 2-year old grandson, Cameron.

Pastor Neagley is grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve the Lord as a Called Pastor, even in retirement, and especially here at Hope.  He and Claire have often said that his love of service and commitment to leading true and meaningful worship will probably keep him busy for many years to come.

Mrs. Christina Atkinson

Administrative Assistant

Mrs. Atkinson was born and raised in Bristol Borough – a small town where you either know someone or you are related to someone.  Raised as a Roman Catholic, Christina attended St. Ann’s Catholic School until the 8th grade when she then transferred to Bristol Jr/Sr. High School to complete her high school education.  As a member of the graduating Class of 1992, Christina was awarded a two-year scholarship to Bucks County Community College where she earned her Associates Degree in Business Administration and has worked in administrative positions for 32 years.

Christina and her husband Michael currently reside in Levittown and enjoy watching movies, the occasional dinner date, spending time with family, and attending Bible Study every Saturday evening.  In her spare time, Christina loves to read, write, bake, make different arts and crafts, and has a passion for all of God’s creatures; especially her fur babies.  Christina’s greatest joy, however, is spending as much time as she can with her children, Nicholas, Ryan, and Ashley.  Because of their three amazing souls created in God's image, Christina became a tremendous advocate for the disability community in not only real life, but through her social media platform on Instagram where she shares about the community with compassion, kindness, inclusion, hope, and real life experiences particularly about Mental Health, Autism, and Selective Mutism.
